The YOUNG INDUSTRY PROJECT was created to bridge the gap between studio training and the professional musical theatre industry for young performers training at an advanced level.

Offering young artists a first hand insight into the pace and level that the professional industry works at, students will workshop, rehearse & present a full scale musical theatre production in two weeks through an intensive, full time industry training experience, all while working with some of Australia’s finest musical theatre professionals.

In an environment created to challenge exceptional young performers whilst nurturing and building confidence, self-esteem and self-efficacy, students will present the culmination of their work through three professionally produced performances with full costuming, set design, lighting and sound production.

*Due to the nature of this project, our age limits may change year by year pending the production presented within the project and its licensing requirements.

“Cecilia learnt more in the 2 weeks she spent in PAC than the years she spent in other musical theatre programs. She came away with a wealth of knowledge and experience of what it is to be a professional musical theatre performer, and is now well and truly hooked! The Young Industry Project staff and mentors were phenomenal - I don’t think there is anywhere else these young people could have been exposed to such talented professionals, working with them to create a truly amazing show. We will certainly be back in 2020!” Jillian, mother of Cecelia

“The quality of this program for young people who are interested in a musical theatre career is beyond compare. The expertise of the teachers and mentors is incredible and they are passionate about supporting and encouraging the next generation. We are incredibly grateful that our daughter was a part of Newsies Jr. She had a wonderful time and has not stopped singing the songs since!” Sarah, mother of Matilda

“Amelia couldn't have chosen a better way to spend her school holidays than training with PAC in the phenomenal musical of Newsies Jr! She loved meeting new people and working alongside professional mentors. Engaging with both PAC's advice and direction, as well as the mentors she learnt so much that she will further bring with her in the future. She thanks PAC for giving her the opportunity to be apart of the wonderful cast and creative team as she continues to pursue her performing career!” - Daniela, mother of Amelia

“Taking part in Legally Blonde Jr. by PAC was a life affirming experience for my 17 year old daughter. The production team were the outmost professionals who set the same standard of the cast from the first meeting. The culture was brilliant, positive and respectful.
The mentors were honest and inspiring.
This couldn’t have come at a better time – year 11 and career choices (not that she’d ever considered any other options). It has certainly made us realise how serious this is for her and also learn a bit about the industry.
Thank you PAC team!” Julia, mother of Veronica

“What an amazing experience for young performers, thanks to performing artists company for giving our teenagers belief, encouragement and opportunity. Wonderful organisation and correspondence with parents absolutely spot on. Thank you to all involved with this fantastic project.” Michelle, mother of Bella

She has been blessed for the wonderful experience you created for her and it has certainly given her an even greater love and passion for the world of musical theatre and a greater appreciation for this magnificent craft.

Mia has made some very special friendships through her participation in this project and will no doubt remember this experience for a life time as will I.” - Melissa, mother of Mia

It was exactly what she needed at this stage in her development, & as her parent I know she has grown immensely from the WHOLE experience. I truly believe in years to come, she will look back on the time she spent with PAC as a pivotal time in her maturity, self-belief & vision as a performer. We cannot wait to see what you guys do next, & will absolutely keep in touch!” Jane, mother of Belle

“The experience of being part of PAC was so inspirational to our daughter. As a family we can not speak highly enough about what she has been exposed to and learnt in such a caring, professional and supportive environment. Led by Alice, all the teachers provided so much time , energy and guidance to the cast. The icing on the cake was of course the performance which was simply excellent. Amy cant wait to be involved again. Well done to all.” Bruce, father of Amy

“Thank you to all the crew at PAC... [Hannah] came back to us on Sunday night a very different performer than two weeks ago. She has regained her joy of performing and is now looking at other opportunities. I was truly blown away by what you have all achieved in a short time and your dedication to giving this group this opportunity is amazing. So thank you all for believing these kids could do it.” Cathy, mother of Hannah

Alice and all the team created such a professional, positive and friendly learning environment that allowed the performers to try their best without fear or judgement. I would highly recommend this to any young performer” - Kellie, mother of Zoe

“What an incredible experience you were able to give our children... All of the children looked like they were having a wonderful time on stage and they all shined through in their own unique way… the talent was insane . All of the children involved in the young industry project have made long life friendships but most of all the creative team were exceptional! Every one of the children in the cast looked up to them. The relationships that were formed in the short two weeks of being together will be bonded forever and this you could see coming through on stage while they were performing!!
Well done to the Performing Artists company for a running such a professional production.
Can’t wait for your next project!!!” Joanne, mother of Claudia

“Enormous congratulations to you both, and a thousand thank you's for the incredible amount of work and energy that you both, as well as all your amazing team of creatives, put into this special project. All of the amazing people involved in the project were absolutely wonderful, and helped make this such a fantastic experience for Aimee.... you have given this group of kids skills and memories that will last a life time.

We are so grateful for the opportunity that this has given to Aimee to engage in an experience that seems to reflect so well the way that a professional production is put together. I think it will really help her to work out whether this is something that she would like to pursue as a career, so I am grateful that she now has this insight.” Nicole, mother of Aimee

“My daughter enjoyed every moment of the process from audition to performances. Cast and crew became friends and family as PAC ensured a safe, respectful and fun environment at all times. Thanks for the opportunity for our kids to perform with confidence and for providing an avenue for their creativity and love of performing to shine.” Lisa, mother of Mackenzie

So very grateful for this experience and I can’t wait to audition next year!” Alyssa, Project Participant

“I am so proud to be part of PAC. I learnt so much and made so many new friends. I especially loved the industry mentors who came in and talked to us about their experiences and shared their learnings with us. Working with the PAC team was just amazing. They were so passionate about making sure we all had the best experience possible and gave us the chance to become better performers. I can’t wait for the next one” Lucy, Project Participant

“A week on and Lachy is still 'buzzing'!!!
I just wanted to take a moment to say congrats and a huge thankyou to both of you and all your crew.
From the audition process on, Lachy has felt nothing but encouragement and positivity
from you all.
He has said the whole experience was life changing and has reinforced that performing arts is the path he wants to continue on. He has the belief in himself and the change in him was noticeable after only a few days into rehearsals. Confidence is an amazing thing!
We've always tried to take and embrace every opportunity for Lachy outside of Wangaratta & the decision to audition for Legally Blonde Jnr was certainly one of our best decisions.
Thankyou again.
Your impact has been huge for one inspired 15 year old boy and we are very very appreciative for the opportunity you gave to all the kids. “ Fiona, mother of Lachy

“PAC provided the best pre-professional opportunity that my daughter has been involved in. The project challenged the children to raise their performance to the next level. The mentor program was excellent and the creative team were wonderful with the cast. Such a positive and rewarding two weeks which finished with such an incredible show. Can't wait to audition for the next production.” Fiona, Mother of Chloe

“The Performing Artists Company production of newsies was exciting, professional, inclusive, compassionate and outstanding in every way. My daughter who dreams of a career in musical theatre got more from this two weeks than she has from anything she has ever done before. She strengthened old friendships, made new friends, learnt skills and found joy. Thank you” - Anna, mother of Eva

“Huge thank you for having a vision and having the know how to execute it with such passion, professionalism and purpose!!! You have succeeded on all fronts!” Vikki, mother of Freya

“Wow!!! Thank you does not seem enough. Georgia (and our whole family) had an amazing experience.
For Georgia, this has meant a huge learning curve - not just from a performance point of view - but also personally. The prospect of entering this project along side no one else she knew was very challenging. But with your support, she grew from this and developed the strength and resilience it takes to hold her own in this new environment.
From a dance and performance point of view, it was so valuable for Georgia to have dancers of similar or stronger abilities to work with. In her local dance school, she is in the higher group and doesn’t always get pushed to strive for a front position… but working with a group at this industry level at PAC has allowed this, and hence has led to improvement and inspiration... We will definitely be keeping in contact” Kathy & Mat, parents of Georgia

“As a parent of one of the performers I was blown away by the performances of each young person out there and I would like to pass on my heartfelt THANK YOU for the opportunity for not only for my daughter but all the talented cast members selected.
They did an amazing job and should all be extremely proud of themselves. It was certainly a proud moment for me!!

As a creative team, you have made the experience wonderful and Hannah came home so positive and animated each day. She has made many new friendships from this experience and I know she was so happy and felt privileged to be part of this fabulous show.” Tracey, mother of Hannah

“The young industry project with PAC is an incredible program. I highly recommend any young actor to enrol. From the audition process right through to final curtain, this experience is one you won’t forget. The production team are truly invested in every performer in the program and their insights, tutoring and direction are incredibly valuable to any young actor wanting to develop their skills. The professional mentors are friendly and insightful. It was great to have knowledge shared with you from actors currently working in the industry. This intensive program also gives you a taste of the professional work ethic you need to develop as an actor in order to work hard and be successful. I learnt a lot in this program and have already started bringing in some of my new skills into current roles I am playing. I am so grateful for the experience and can’t wait for the next young industry project. Thank you to the whole team at PAC.” - Noah, Project Participant

“This experience is a must for any young person wanting a taste of working on a professional production. PAC tick all the boxes, producing a first rate show whilst providing an incredibly engaging and supportive environment for young performers.” Ann, mother of Charlotte

“I could have not thought of a better way to spend my school holidays. PAC was such an amazing and supportive environment to work in and I wouldn't have changed a second of it for anything.” Isabella, Project Participant

“This has honestly been the best experience of my life! The knowledge, support and guidance I have received as well as the friendships I have created, all have significantly changed my life!
